We are continuing to support our community through our Domestic and Family Violence Campaign. ‘Canterbury-Bankstown Says NO to Domestic Violence & YES to Healthy Relationships’, is an ongoing campaign reinforced by the Canterbury Bankstown Domestic Violence Liaison Committee. The goal is to raise awareness and support people experiencing domestic and family violence within Canterbury-Bankstown.

CBCity Domestic Violence Pledge Initiative

What is domestic and family violence?

Domestic and family violence occurs when someone in a close personal relationship makes the other person feel repeatedly afraid, powerless or unsafe.

This can be in the form of physical, social, financial, sexual, emotional, verbal, psychological, technology-facilitated or spiritual abuse.

How you can make a difference

We’re asking our local community members, groups, organisations and businesses to pledge support in eliminating domestic and family violence in Canterbury-Bankstown. You can do this by:

  • Leaving a message on our Pledge Wall below; and
  • Submitting a photo or video of you with your friends, family or colleagues saying ‘Canterbury-Bankstown Says NO to domestic violence and YES to healthy relationships’.

The City of Canterbury Bankstown acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, water and skies of Canterbury-Bankstown, the Darug (Darag, Dharug, Daruk, Dharuk) People. We recognise and respect Darug cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge the First Peoples’ continuing importance to our CBCity community.
